About this experience

In this 2-hour experience, you’ll explore the art of the pottery wheel while enjoying carefully selected natural wines.

Each participant will be guided through the process of creating up to two unique ceramic pieces, learning the fundamentals of the pottery wheel in an intimate small-group setting.

You’ll select your glaze, and we’ll take care of finishing and firing your pieces. If you prefer, you’re welcome to return to glaze and trim them yourself, or we can arrange shipping directly to your home.

No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and love for ceramics and wine!

In this pottery workshop, you'll learn:

• How to prepare your clay for the wheel
• The basics of centering and shaping
• How to create simple forms and explore new shapes
• Introductory decoration techniques to personalize your pieces

Each student will have their own wheel to practice and create during the session.

Includes:

• 2-hour hands-on workshop
• Creation of up to 2 ceramic pieces to take home
  
• 2 glasses of wine, beginning with a brief tasting of our current selections
• All tools and materials provided
• Kiln firing and glazing included

Your pieces will be ready for pick-up in approximately 2–3 weeks. We’ll notify you by email once they’re ready. If you're unable to pick them up, we can provide a shipping quote. 

Course level

Beginner.

Anyone, with or without experience in ceramics, can attend our workshops, minimum age 12.

Studio Marvila is a creative studio in Lisbon founded by ceramicist Naomi and wine curator Jonas, where clay and natural wine come together through hands-on workshops and convivial gatherings.
